When
I read your biography I noticed that you were creative from a
very young age. Did your parents stimulate you and were they
musicians too?
Miss Camille: "They've always played different
instruments of music like piano, guitar, banjo, violin, trombone … (classical
music or jazz music).
They were singin all the time with us (my big brother and
I), but they never did it as professionals.
But for sure, they opened a world of creativity to us."
You worked with a lot of bands and artists.
Is the next step to make an album of your own?
Miss Camille: "Yes, this is what I'm doin' right now, finishing my songs.
But it's not very easy to find a deal, even more today, it takes a lot of times,
but I keep the faith, I have to!"
Do you write your own songs?
Miss Camille: "Yes, I do, I sometimes need some help for my lyrics :o).
It can be very difficult for me to put some words on what I feel, I guess that's
exactly the reason I need the music to express myself."
Is your specialty to do live performances?
Miss Camille: "I love it, and I definitely need it. The response of a
public is a gift, this gives so much energy! It makes you remember why you're
there for, why you have to hang on to this difficult way and why you put everything
you have to go further."
You also do a lot of gospelmusic as well.
What is your connection with gospelmusic? Are you a religion
person?
Miss Camille: "Actually, I'm not a religious person at all, but I'm a
spiritual person, I believe in a lot of things ... I believe in energies above
and around, I guess that when I sing it, I use their words, but I think it
my way! And finally, it's the same."
Can you compare the jazzscene In The Nteherlands
to Belgium and what is the main difference?
Miss Camille: "I don't really know about the jazz scene in Holland, but
I'm more into the 'Soul scene' and I think that it's much more open in Holland.
The public of soul music here (Belgium) is sooooo small, they're not really
into it!"
What do you find of performing at The Hague
Jazz Festival?
Miss Camille: "I'm very pleased and honored to meet the Dutch public :o)
!!!"
What are your plans for the future?
Miss Camille: "Workin' on my album, find a deal, I also have some beautiful
projects with several artists that I realy like."
